StoryLine :
Ghajini is a 2008 Bollywood film directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced under the Geetha Arts banner by Allu Aravind. The film was a remake of its Tamil namesake, Ghajini, which was also directed by Muragadoss. The original film was adapted from critically acclaimed Hollywood psychological thriller Memento, directed by Christopher Nolan. It starred Aamir Khan and Hindi débutant Asin Thottumkal as the lead pair with Jiah Khan, Pradeep Rawat and Riyaz Khan essaying supporting roles.

Sanjay Singhania (Aamir Khan), is a rich businessman who owns a cellular phone company named Air Voice. Kalpana (Asin Thottumkal), an advertisement model goes around telling her advertisement crew that she is the love interest of Sanjay, in spite of her having never met him and also goes to the extent of giving an interview about her relationship to a popular magazine. Sanjay happens to hear about this through the media and wants to settle scores with her. On his way, he catches a fleeting glimpse of a young woman (who happens to be Kalpana) helping handicapped children cross a street. It is love at first sight for Sanjay. He moves on to confront Kalpana at her advertisement studio. He is pleasantly surprised to realize that she is the same helpful woman he saw a while ago. He chooses to hide the fact from her that he is Sanjay, calling himself as Sachin. Kalpana eventually falls in love with him.

Once, while on a train to Goa, Kalpana saves a group of young girls from abuse by a group of goons led by GHAJINI (Pradeep Rawat). After a few days, the same goons come to Kalpana's house in order to kill her. Incidentally, Sanjay arrives at the scene to tell her about himself, but thinks Kalpana isn't home. when he is leaving, Kalpana calls him and tells him about the danger she is in. He arrivies to find Kalpana murdered. He is attacked and Ghajini then strikes the downcast Sanjay on his head severely with a metal rod. Sanjay survives the blow, but acquires anterograde amnesia because of the trauma of his brain injury. At any given time, he does not remember anything that happened more than 15 minutes back, although he frequently has flashbacks of Kalpana's murder, but can't remember the face of the killer, only his name Ghajini. He determines to take revenge on those responsible for Kalpana's death. The rest of the story is about how Sanjay, along with a medical college student Sunita (Jiah Khan), goes about finding Ghajini and the goons.

Vijayakanth plays the lead character in "Engal Aasaan", directed by Kalaimani and produced by S.V. Thangaraj under the banner of Yuvasri Pictures.

The story revolves around the country's banking system. A big majority of the unlettered rural masses are still unaware of the working of the banks and so they are not able to take advantage of the benefits of banking. Protagonist Vijayakanth (Mahendran) takes on himself the mission of creating awareness among the villagers about the facilities provided by the banks and also works to raise the standard of living of the rural people.

Seril Brindo, who played an important character role in Vijayakanth-starrer "Arasangam", is the heroine in "Engal Aasaan".

Vikranth and 'Kalaba Kadalan' Ashaya act as the young lovers. There is a 'kuthu' dance featuring Suja, who also has a crush on Vikranth, but her love is one-sided.

Unlike "Arasangam", this film has punch dialogues by Vijayakanth in every scene. Seril Brindo is featured as the village head. Director Kalaimani says Brindo plays her role with gusto and her acting skill is on full display. He would not be surprised if she wins an award, he adds.

The story is narrated in the backdrop of romance. But there is no bloodshed, no sound of gunfire and no bomb blasts, says Kalaimani.

A new face, Ramki, is making his debut as villain.

The first half of the film has been shot in Chennai and the second half in Pollachi. It has two songs picturised in Australia.

While Sabesh-Murali has scored the music, A. Venkatesh has handled the camera. The lyrics are by Muthulingam, Pa. Vijay and Snegan. The others in the production team are: Velumani (dialogue), Jana (art), Salim (editing).

The time travelling trio pick up a baby pterodactyl, a caterpillar-dog, and an Ancient Mexican woman about to be sacrificed along with battling various time travelling thugs that want the skull, including Slim.

Eventually, Jesse must face off with Slim in the Wild West, and while he is victorious, Gramps has been mortally wounded and passes away with a final warning about the power of the skull. The film ends with the suggestion that the heroes have decided to use the skull to time travel.
